Our Counseling Services
Family Counseling
In family counseling, the counselor works with the whole family. The counselor explores their views and relationships to understand the problems the family is having. It helps family members communicate better with each other. Sessions can last for 50 minutes to an hour-and-a-half, and usually take place a few weeks apart.
You may be offered family counseling if the whole family is in difficulty. This may be because one member of the family has a serious problem that’s affecting the rest of the family. Family counselors deal with lots of different issues, including:
adolescent behavioral problems
mental health conditions, illness and disability in the family
separation, divorce and step-family life
domestic violence
grief and loss
addiction
Individual Counseling
Individual Counseling is the most common form of counseling, where you meet one-on-one with a counselor for about 50-60 minutes. During the initial meeting, the counselor will ask questions about your concerns to gain a better understanding of you and your concerns. If you and the counselor agree that additional sessions would be helpful, you will continue to meet to explore concerns, feelings and options in more depth. This takes place while developing and improving your coping skills.
